Chapter 4

  • Verse 10 in the KJB reads “Aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and Marcus, sister’s son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him;)” but the NKJV reads “Aristarchus my fellow prisoner greets you, with Mark the cousin of Barnabas (about whom you received instructions: if he come to you, welcome him),” The King James Bible says Marcus was Barnabas’ nephew. While the NKJV sasy Marcus was Barnabas’ cousin. Interestingly, the NKJV mirrors the Roman Catholic Douay Rheims Version: Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, saluteth you, and Mark, the cousin german (first cousin) of Barnabas, touching whom you have received commandments; if he come unto you, receive him. Douay-Rheims Version of Colossians 4:10. At the end of the day the NKJV is just another modern version.
